Weird Animal Facts - There's a lot of Weird Stuff Out There!

I was inspired to put together some weird animal facts because of all the strange and amazing animals that I have seen on the discovery channel. I hope that you will find these facts just as interesting as I did!

Fact #1 - By looking at the bone structures of dinosaurs scientist have determined that these frightening creatures lived to between 80 and 300 years of age. I'm glad they died out long before humans populated the earth. Imagine having to run for you life everyday to avoid being eaten by a T. Rex!

Fact #2 - A giraffe's heart weighs more than 25 pounds, is 2 feet wide and is about 3 inches thick. This is way bigger than a human heart! The mass of a normal adult heart is only about 9 to 12 ounces.

Fact #3 - Tigers have striped skin as well as striped fur

Fact #4 - In Toyko, Japan they sell toupees for dogs - now that's pretty weird!

Fact #6 The humming bird is the only bird that can fly backwards

Fact #7 Fast, loud music makes termites chew faster. I guess they get more hyped up when they hear the bass pumping.

Fact #8 The giant squis has the largest eyes of any animal in the world. they can be as large as saucers depending on the size of the animal.

Fact #9 Horses sleep standing up.

Fact #10 Mosquitos are attracted to blue more than any other color.
